I had a very bizarre and somewhat creepy start to my morning on the way to work. I was walking to the train a little after 5am. As I approached Corus bank (my bank, actually) at the corner of Clark and Belmont (on the sidewalk), there was a woman making a call on her cell phone. As I waited for the light to change so I could cross the street, something bright red caught the corner of my peripheral vision to my left.
I looked down to see a crumpled up white dress shirt with some kind of design on a part of it....covered in bright red blood. Almost the entire shirt was red, and it wasn't red paint. It was definitely blood. I found myself muttering "What the hell?" under my breath. I turned around to look at the woman on her cell phone and I assume she was calling the police because I heard her say something about calling to report the bloody shirt she found, not sure if it was something that needed to be investigated/"talked about."
The light then changed and I crossed the street.

i saw a woman fall to the ground today. she was nearing the intersection when she fell. apparently she just tripped over her own feet. the younger man with her helped her up but others near her and another who had just been in the street to cross it came back to her and the situation.
That's a creepy story. Tell me another one.
Were you in Uptown? That kinda stuff always happens there.
No, right on my street (Belmont and Clark). I'm not that surprised though...the Lakeview neighborhood's changed the past year or two...more shady individuals ever since they got rid of the projects and spread out subsidized housing all throughout the city.
What?!?! Are you saying you've seen your fair share of "bloody shirt" scenarios? God, I can't wait to move out of this city in a few months!
God yes. And where do you think you're moving too young Lady?
Hmmm. I wonder. hehehe.
